Leslie, Chuck and I took canoes down the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River last weekend, knowing that the floods were coming. The gauge read 4.57 when we left, and by midnight had spiked to 12.7 feet well after we were all safely home and asleep. It only rose .09 feet while we were on the water. We surfed, poled, and even did a bit of lining over some of the shallow sections. This section can have a bit of wood, which we were mindful of, but there were never any issues. It was Chuck's first time down a river in over a year. Great work, Chuck!
