Yet again, Steve Macdonald of Beyond Adventure came through and got a BCU 4* Open Canoe Assessment set up while I was over. Claire Knifton and Giles Trussell were our assessors, and I attempted the award with Lou, from Glasgow. Day 1 was leadership- we took a group of local youth slalom paddlers for a first open canoe trip. They were great fun! Highly skilled, easily bored, a group that needed no coaching (they could have taught me a thing or two!) but needed constant entertainment.
Our highly skilled, short attention spanned guinea pigs. |
